Singapore International Mediation Centre, together with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Singapore International Commercial Court shared the Singapore story on effective dispute resolution at the Riyadh International Disputes Week 2024, which took place between 3 and 7 March. This international platform bringing together key players in the dispute resolution market to explore ADR realities and opportunities in the Middle East’s largest economy, share knowledge and expertise, and forge relationships and collaborations.The events drew a diverse audience, including international institutional representatives, private practitioners, in-house counsel, and arbitrators. They gathered at this week-long event to engage in discussions and share insightful perspectives.

 

One of the event highlight includes a fireside chat with Minister K Shanmugam, SC, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law, Singapore, and Mr. S Premjith, Singapore Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, moderated by Mr. Toby Landau KC, Vice President, SIAC Court of Arbitration; Vice Chairman, SCCA; Board Member, SIMC.

Mr. Chuan Wee Meng, CEO, SIMC, alongside Ms. Gloria Lim, CEO, SIAC and Mr. Phang Hsiao Chung, Divisional Registrar, SICC delivered a presentation on 'Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) for the Global Economy: Introducing the Singapore Ecosystem'. The insights illuminated the significance of ADR in today's global economic landscape, showcasing Singapore’s robust ecosystem in this domain.
