Celebrating Success: A Recap of the SIMC Specialist Mediators Empanelment & Appreciation Lunch
On 5th April 2024, the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) hosted a memorable empanelment ceremony for the latest batch of Singapore Specialist Mediators. Additionally, an appreciation lunch was held to recognize the unwavering support of SIMC's mediators, partners and advocates in promoting commercial mediation.

The event began with a warm welcome from SIMC's Chairman, Mr. George Lim SC, setting the stage for a gathering of celebration and camaraderie. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Charlene Chang, Deputy Secretary (Development) at the Ministry of Law, Singapore. Ms. Chang's inspiring words and encouragement underscore the importance of mediation in today's world, highlighting its role in conflict resolution and fostering collaboration.
Following Ms. Chang's address, the empanelment ceremony saw 14 of the latest batch of Singapore Specialist Mediators Workshop participants received certificates of appointment as SIMC Specialist Mediators for a period of two years. As they embark on their mediation journey, we look forward to collaborating and co-mediating with new Specialist Mediators for their first case filed with SIMC.
SIMC's CEO, Mr. Chuan Wee Meng also provided an update on the latest developments within SIMC. He shared updates on latest outreach efforts by SIMC, as well as upcoming plans and events for key industries (BRI, Aviation, Martime and Insurance). He invited partners and mediators to join and support SIMC in these new initiatives as we grow the use of mediation in each of them. Mr. Chuan also highlighted this year is the 10th year anniversary of SIMC and the celebration will be on August 28 (Wednesday) during the Singapore Convention Week.

The Empanelment & Appreciation Lunch also provided a platform for the mediation community to come together, reconnect with old acquaintances, and forge new connections. Over lunch, attendees engaged in lively discussions, sharing insights, and caught up with old friends within the community.
